An Eh Week and an Empty Cup

August 15 2026

Hiiiii! Another week has flown by. Not a great one, but at least its done.

I've been feeling a bit isolated for a few years now. To alleviate that feeling of loneliness, I've been stumbling around in online communities, reaching out to old friends I haven't spoken to or seen in awhile, and trying new hobbies (a la this site). Its times like these specifically where everything just feels bad. My tolerance gets lower, my patience gets even lower, and I have a near impossible time holding in my rage. I spoke with my therapist about it and she said my cup was empty. Huh?

I pour a lot of myself into everything and everyone. I do not like to see people suffer. If I have the ability to, I will always help (for better or for worse). She said when you pour so much of yourself into things, sometimes those things need to pour back into you.

After our conversation, I decided to keep pouring into myself. Fiance and I took a trip up north to a queer bookstore and got to walk around a bit. I ended up grabbing People From My Neighborhood by Hiromi Kawakami. A book that is a collection of short stories from multiple perspectives seems right up my alley. I still think that Master of None episode about the different people in NYC should have been an entire series on its own.

Tessie and Spero also gifted me Return of the Obra Dinn on Steam. Its a game that's been on my list since the GMTK video about it. Now I feel compelled to finish it! I have marked 18 out of 60 people on the ship. So....yeah wish me luck on that one. Game is real good tho!

I also finished up my Pokemon VGC draft league game for this week. You can see the update here!

Scattered thoughts. But taking some time to focus on me and not everyone else in my life. I need to get better about being alone. We'll get there! Slowly but surely. Till next time!

Currently playing:

Return of the Obra Dinn

Currently watching:

PLUR1BUS (2026) - Absolutely mesmorizing show. It's creepy but funny? Horrifying but optimistic? There's a lot to say and I'm only on episode 7. I'm very curious to see where this goes. Random note, If I had a nickel for every show I watched this year about a main character named Carol and how they deal with loneliness at the end of the world.....I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but its weird that its happened twice.
